iOS apps - best video and bluetooth support?

Postby oshogg » Mon Feb 06, 2012 9:52 pm

Hi,

Which one of the iOS apps has video support (like Android app)? I couldn't figure out from the description that any of them even has any video support.

Also, could someone please tell me which one of the iOS apps best integrate with car bluetooth seamlessly? Just like the iOS app to do:

* Auto play/pause when car is turned on/off. This works flawlessly for my Android phone and I would like the same for my spouse's iPhone 4S.
* Good buffering (buffer next song/entire album etc. in advance)
* Good search capability

Thanks,
Osho

I haven't had any issues with connecting via bluetooth with iSub in the car.

Of the three subsonic streamers for iOS, iSub is definitely the best. If you are looking for feature-rich experience that is the best option for you. I have used them all and can honestly say there is not a single feature z-subsonic or sub stream offers that iSub has not already implemented or built upon and made better. Even the support is great. You are correct when you say none of them stream video, but the author of that app has mentioned possibly adding video support for the next big release in the future, too.

Oops. Forgot about the bullet points.

iSub does all three beautifully.

* I just got a new head unit in my car specifically to stream music so that first bullet point is important to me too.
* iSub will automatically "cache" the current and next song. You can manually cache any song, album, or artist's discographies with a swipe gesture. Very easy.
* Search is supported app-wide now.

Here is a video outlining some of the key features.

The app can also has a fullscreen version included for the iPad. No need to pay for a separate app.

Thank you. I've been looking for a simple comparison of the three.
