Logins mixed up

Postby InShaneee » Wed Jun 06, 2012 5:41 am

Somehow, my friend's login got messed up so that whenever she logs in to my server, she shows up as being logged in under my account. She shows up with my name in the 'now playing' section, her playlist is my playlist, and she can access anything I can access, which is especially problematic since I'm the administrator. I've tried deleting and recreating her account, but that doesn't seem to change anything. I'd rather not try to delete my own account, since I'm the admin. Any suggestions? If there's any sort of other information I can provide from my logfiles, please let me know.

Can you first confirm that this is not a browser issue? If she presses logout in the upper right corner, she ends up on the login screen, right? Are the username and password boxes filled with some values for her? Which username does she fill in, and which username shows up when she later on starts playing songs? Does she have some password manager for her browser that remember logins that could trigger this?

Try clearing her browser as much as possible (remove cookies, filled in form values, active sessions etc). Make sure no values are filled into the username/password boxes that could make her log in as you.

You will probably find that she hasn't really got admin access.
However try deleting both your and her players
When you and her both log back on SS will recreate new ones.
Sindre has indicated that this is one issue that should be resolved in the upcoming 4.7

She's using a different computer than me. I've watched her log out and back in; no saved values or anything, and she's on a computer I've never logged in on, so it couldn't be an errant cookie.

I've tried deleting her players, so we'll see if that works, though I should note that she didn't seem to have a browser-based player associated with her account.

Clear both browser caches.

Just touching base to say that none of the above solutions have worked so far. She now has no players listed under her name in Settings, and when she logs in, it just shows her logged in as me, and doesn't create any new players.

Delete players, delete cookies on all computers, and restart subsonic. Don't log into subsonic before deleting cookies and restarting subsonic. This problem is caused by cookies and subsonic's way of remembering certain things.
