searching not working

HI there,

I have over 50k songs and filling in the search field is does not match anything. "No match found"
the playlist bar on the left hand side has all the music in the scroll down menu.
I scan the media folders at 3am daily. I purged the database and no change. I have fast -access mode checked.
what else can I check?
