Video on Ipad

Postby Eshezo » Fri Jan 23, 2015 5:01 pm

Dear all,

I would dearly love to play video from Subsonic on my iPad.

I have explored some different ways but with no success, any advice suggestions would be welcomed.

Thanks Esh

The paid version of iSub streams video. Its $4.99 but works well.

If you are open to other options, look into Plex for something very full featured, or for something less so - StreamToMe.

I've been running AirVideo and now AirVideoHD server side by side on the same machine as my Subsonic server for 4+ years....in fact, they both point to the same video directories (Movies and TV Shows) on that machine. For straight video, I absolutely LOVE AirVideoHD, it's tremendous and my users prefer it as well. I continue to also list my Movies via Subsonic as well as I said, simply because some of my users like the actual web interface that Subsonic provides, at least when they're home and laptop/Mac connected to their favorite large screen or something. I like to cover my bets and provide options for the users - so running both AirVideoHD and Subsonic side by side is a reasonable solution. Just my 2 cents.
Subsonic 5.2.1 on 2009 Apple XServe w/ Yosemite Server 10.10.5; 96GB RAM. Lots of Music - High Rez, native DSD streaming, and otherwise.

I think the more common solution is to run Subsonic and Plex side by side since Plex does a really good job handling tv shows and movie metadata
