importing itunes playlists, error

I have exported my iTunes playlists to the m3u format but when I try to import them to Subsonic I receive an error, "Failed to import playlist. No songs in the playlist were found." I have verified the songs in the playlist are present in Subsonic and play just fine. What can I do to fix this issue?
