After re-installing app - starred music gone :-(

I have reinstalled the subsonic app on my phone, everything works fine.
But all my starred music is gone, weeks of work!

is this correct?

Did you check on the Subsonic's webinterface if your starred music is still there?
I don't know which app you're using but one might assume that if you star some tracks it would be written to Subsonic's database. Otherwise the app stores it locally on your phone.
If that's so you have indeed lost weeks of works and a very good reason to switch to another much less crappy app.

Did you create a new user?

Starred albums and tracks are bound to subsonic user ids.
