I need an inexpensive system for simultaneous translation in a church.
I was looking for a traditional system with cordless mike, transmitters, receivers, wireing, headphones and all. But that's kind of old school.
My though was to use what already exists like Wifi as a transport medium and smartphones as receivers; and I came upon Subsonic.
Things have to be pretty simple for the end user as far as starting up an APP on their smartphones (iPhone, Android), connecting their own headphones and off they go.
I do have available a mixing table with separate input and outputs (in-language, out-language), access to wireless microphones, WiFi-routers and PC's that could do the transconding. Or I assume I also could use Subsonic to transmit the in-language to the ear of the translator.
Is Subsonic a good candidate for this, and how much is involved in the setup?

Johan
