Service name on network [solved]

Postby andrea76 » Tue May 05, 2020 9:20 pm

Hello, I have 2 subsonic server on my network, I'm changing devices, but in this period I don't know which server I'm using because on network I see 2 server with the same name! :?
This is a possibility to change name server? How? Thanks a lot! :?:

The name associated with the IP address and port is assigned by whatever is doing the DNS and DHCP, most likely your router, check the setup in your router and assign a name to the correct IP Address and port assigned by the router.

Network is ok because DNS respond correctly (raspberry3:4040 and raspberry4:4040) but on smartTV I see only "subsonic" server,
I would like add a number (subsonic3 and subsonic4) to know witch rasperry respond. Is it possible?
Thanks a lot for your reply!

Ah, so its not showing you the address on the TV browser ?
If you go into the settings|Genereal then you can alter the Welcome Title and Sub-title to show which one your using.
Presumably you must have also setup which address to go to in the TV browser so maybe you need two entries so that you can select the other one as well.

I'think to kill old raspberry one source as soon as possible and use only new, so the problem is solved.
Thanks for replies. Bye!

I hope to give a nice information.
When enable DLNA server, you write a name of service.
this name will be used online and into smart TV you see this name.
If you have more servers, you can reconize source by DLNA name server.
Bye!
