Is Subsonic still being developed/maintained?

There are several issues that I have encountered and it seems that none of the developers access this forum. The change log indicates no changes since Nov 10, 2019. So I wonder if Subsonic is still being developed (bug fixes, new features). Can anyone tell me? Thanks in advance.

There is only one main developer for Subsonic which is Sindre Mehus. Unfortunately, it looks like he abandoned Subsonic. There are no significant updates for the last 2 years, however he keeps the software running. So there is an update if there is a breaking change.

Iam personally in the process of switching to Airsonic (like many others). I used Subsonic for more than 10 years and was an very happy user, but i don’t want to run an dead software any longer.

Wish I saw this thread before renewing my Premium licensing. Paid the $12 via PayPal, but no license in my email.... and *zero* replies to any of the various Subsonic-related e-mail addresses I've found.

Since this program appears to be abandonware now I would like to ask a question. I know there are other similar programs out there. Does anyone know of one that works with Sonos? It's really why I have the lifetime license for Subsonic that is valid for all or eternity!

Subsonic seems—for all intents and purposes—dead. There is an active fork called https://airsonic.github.io/ and I believe they have been working on Sonos. Airsonic is completely open source, unlike Subsonic, so it doesn't require a key.

Personally, I had been looking for an excuse to drop *sonic because of its reliance on Java and tendency to have its DB corrupted. I tried out Navidrome but it was too basic for my needs.

I finally settled on Emby, in large part because it supports the "composer" ID3 tag and is under active development. Also, I had already been using it for video streaming, and while it definitely is a better for video, they are slowly making refinements to make it a better audio streamer, so maybe check it out.

I followed up with your suggestion of checking out airsonic. There is a fork of this application that does have Sonos Support (it's been deprecated in airsonic proper due to security issues) called airsonic-advanced.

I installed Docker on my Synology and pulled the airsonic-advanced image. After much tinkering around I think I have it running and working so far with Sonos. Frankly, now that everything I own is pretty much available to stream on any of the
commercial streaming services I don't really need subsonic or airsonic-advanced. Way back when it was needed to avoid the song limitation in Sonos (65k if I remember) but that's not an issue with commercial streaming services.

I was a long time Subsonic user, I migrated to Supysonic around 1 year ago, the main attraction being that it's python based and I could remove java.

I moved from Subsonic to Plex a few years back. Plex works great through Sonos for me

Just reading through the install process for Airsonic on Windows is black comedy. Lol, no honey. Windows is a UI focused OS. Your installer should - install. If I wanted to run it on linux I'd get the linux version. Sigh.

Yeah I agree on Sub being/becoming abandonware, mr Mehus seems to be online from time to timeon the Forum but Sub's last update was 2 years ago and I dont see any actual developer-related responses on the Feature Request pages.
