I haven't seen an update in awhile...we didn't lose Sindre did we?
Updates were coming out regularly and I haven't seen an update in months. Does anyone know what is going on?

I can't be the only person that has drawn that conclusion and either one of these companies would be very wise to hire him and kill SS. If we have indeed lost Sindre then I think we should try to get the source code and switch this to a community effort. Thoughts?

well the source code as always been available its Open Source! So anyone could fork there own version of SS at anytime. I wouldn't be to concerned yet frankly I am enjoying the slower pace of updates, since I mod my server fairly heavily so each new update is kind of an ordeal for me to upgrade too
I hope SS never dies. there is really nothing like it on the market. The other music services are cool but none of them can be self hosted, and all of them cost money. At my multi GB sized library I ane't affording their services anytime soon.

Yeah, it's been awhile since the last update since I've been busy with other things - but I'll have a new beta ready in not so long. The major new thing is a "sharing" feature, with which you can send someone a link (or post on twitter/facebook) to a song/album/video on your Subsonic server. He or she will be able to stream that material (but nothing else) without needing a user account.
Cheers,
Sindre
