I have one more question. When my music is sorted and is under X:\Music\...., Do I enter in Subsonic only the X:\Music path? or do I enter each Letter folder X:\Music\y.. (assuming the structure in X:\Music\y\artist...), or I enter the artists folders?

If your music is in X:\Music\Artists\Albums\Songs, then you would only specify X:\Music.

Not sure if it was fixed in 4.7+, but I experienced issues with 4.6 where if I had any actual music files in X:\Music (not in a subfolder), then that was the only music it would see. It wouldn't see anything in the subfolders, unless I moved the music out of the "root" folder. Haven't been brave enough to move something back into the "root" folder with 4.7+. If it's not broke, don't fix it....

OK. Just for the info...
I have tagged all my music files, downloaded the cover arts for them and they are sorted in the format X:\Music\A\Artist\(year) album\CD #\title
I used mp3Tag for this task and it worked the best for me.
In order to sort and organize the files/directories in the format above I created the following mask:
Code: Select all
c:\Music\$if($isdigit($left(%artist%,1)),#,$left(%artist%,1))\%artist%\(%year%) %album%$if(%cdnum%,\CD%cdnum%\%artist% - %album% - $num(%track%,2) - %title%,\%artist% - %album% - $num(%track%,2) - %title%)

'cdnum' and a custom tag that I have added in order count the CD# in case an album has more than 1 CD.
Artists that start with a number are stored in a folder '#'.

It took me a whole week to do it but in the end it worth the effort. :D

Just a suggestion, why don't you use the Disk number tag?

Everyone is entitled to be stupid, Image but some abuse the privilege!

Due to the confusion from too many genres of music, we have decided to put both country music and rap music into the genre of Crap music.
