Like I suggested yesterday, call Cox. They'll probably be willing to replace that badboy for free, maybe even same day service.

Have you rebooted the router?

We're probably missing something simple here. Do you have Skype? Is it working?

Don't have Sype... I have an Xbox with Netflix... I haven't tested to see if that is working. If that is not working then maybe that will tell me if it's the router or not.

I'm looking at the manual now ...

Are you wired or wireless?

That is only outbound... obviously outbound traffic is working, because you are posting to these forums.

Netflix is inbound isn't it? I'm actually posting to this forum from work, and remoting to my home desktop.

Yeah, but that traffic goes over port 80... of course that's open inbound, otherwise you'd definitely be calling Cox because your internet would be down

In the router manual it says that there are some common game application single port forwarding rules built into the router. Go to the Applications and Gaming> Single Port Forwarding tab and activate one of the rules for any game and then test to see if it is working. Forward to the SS server at .254.

Once you have a template that you can see in your router table, try to modify it to connect to Subsonic or just change the SS port to the one being used.

The instructions are on page 33 of the router manual , which by the way is almost illegible as a pdf - hope you have the hardcopy.

Every router is different and setting up the forward rules is usually obtuse and doesn't seem logical when you first set them up. It's almost like trying to learn how to use an old HP calculator.

I'm just thinking that obviously something is wrong with the router since it was working for like a year, and then... it's not. The only factor being that a thunderstorm came through... so maybe it jacked something up in the router. I don't know... running out of ideas.
