I recently updated to java 7 on my Windows 7 64-bit OS and sobsonic will not start anymore.
I have tried installing the latest beta since I was on the 4.6 stable before but same issue.
If I try to start the sobsonic service from administrative tools I get "Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly"
Installed version of Java is "Java 7 Update 7" version "7.0.70"
Also installed if JavaFX version 2.1.1

I have the same problem. Windows 7 64bit. Newest version of Java. Subsonic fails with the same error. HELP! I'm LOST without my subsonic.

It is definitely the newest version of Java: Java 7 update 7. It will break subsonic. What's a shame here is in order to use subsonic, you'll have to run a version of Java with enough security holes in it to make a block of swiss cheese jealous. Still, everything is up and running now with update 6.

Good to know that it is Java at least.
I think I'll just wait for a fix.

I run the latest version of Java on all of my Subsonic sites without any problems. They all run on Windows platforms, either Win 2008R2 or Win 2003 code base. The 4.7 final has just been posted for download.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/subsoni ... /subsonic/You should be able to get good results if you do a clean install of the latest Java and Subsonic 4.7.
I also have MadEvil's latest modded release running fine in the same environment.

I'll give 4.7 a try. All I can tell you is, worked fine with update 6. Java updated to update 7. Subsonic stopped working. Uninstalled java back to update 6. Works fine again.

I'm running Windows 7 64bit and had an error with the latest version of Java. This simple fix was to and the location to java7 to the environment variables. Now SS works great.

And this is a clean install of both the latest Java and Subsonic 4.7?
Somehow, methinks not.

I uninstalled both Java and subsonic and installed Java SDK 7 and then installed subsonic 4.7.
It works but subsonic installed java 6 even though I had java 7 installed because somehow it needs java 6.

@Spacebug, Go to the System Properties and on the Advanced Tab there is a button in the bottom right corner that says Enviroment Variables. Then in the lower box that says System Variables look for the Variable that says 'Path' then click on edit. At the end of the Variable Value add the following ';C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin' but with out the single quotes.
Anyways not sure exactly the error I was receiving but tracked it down to SS not knowing where to find the new location of Java7.
Hope that helps

Since I installed java 7 for 64-bit I had to change the path to without (x86) but subsonic still said it cannot find a jre for 32-bit installed.
I guess I just have to have java 7 64-bit and java 6 32-bit installed

You must install Java 32 bit. 64 bit Java is optional and only needed if you use a 64 bit browser to access Subsonic.
Install Java 32 bit first. Only add 64 bit if you intend to use IE 9 64 bit.

I had same problem as well. I install subsonic onto a java 7 update 21 and would not work. Uninstalled java and put 6 on and all is well. It is definitely java 7 that is causing problems.
