Playlists In Subsonic 4.7

I update to 4.7 yesterday, and it went real smooth. Thanks to Sindre for all the continued work on the system.

Im not sure if this is a bug, or a feature that Im just not looking at the right way. If this has been previously discussed, I apologize.

I have many playlists in subsonic. While the update was going on I was watching the log file scroll, and at the end of the first pass on the database scan, it stated that the playlists were imported and updated. I looked at the web interface and they all seemed to be listed with the number of songs in in the bracket following the title. When the database rescanned a second time, the titles of the playlist remained, but the content of the playlists, as well as the song count disappeared.

I then manually imported, through the web interface, the playlist that were previously in my playlist folder from 4.6 Again, that seemed to work fine, but was a long manual process, as I had to import one playlist as a time. I then, just for testing purposes, rescanned the database, and once again, the titles remained, but the songs and song count disappeared, thereby ending up with an empty playlist.

So I then created, through the web interface, from scratch, a playlist. This seemed to work fine. I rescanned the database and both the title and the contents of the playlist remained.

Im a bit puzzled. Can I not use my previously created playlists I made and that reside in my 4.6 playlist folder? And each time I want a new playlist, do I need to create it from the web interface only, or NOT update or rescan the database after I manually import my playlists from my original 4.6 folder?

Like I said, Im not sure if this is a bug and the import playlist feature doesn't work, or there is a new method of creating and managing playlists within subsonic 4.7

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I use the playlist function for 99% of my listening when using subsonic.

Thanks and have a great day

EB

*bump*

I went back to 4.6 for a similar reason - I generate playlists to a folder from MediaMonkey,
and 4.6 just finds them and they work.

4.7 requires importing every playlist, which adds more steps that I just don't need.

I'll check back when there's another update, hopefully this ease-of-use element will return.

The playlists are now stored in the Subsonic database. The advantage with this new system is it allows user specific playlists. The old way just had one group of playlists available to everyone.

I have 10 playlists with static names. Every now and then, after I've gone through them, I'll re-generate random playlists from my PC (using another application and storing them on my hard-drive) and I'll overwrite those 10 playlists with different content. But then, when those same named playlists are played via Subsonic, they still have the original content.

What do I need to do to have Subsonic update to the playlist files with the new content (i.e., refreshed... and no, the Refresh button doesn't change anything)?
