Cover art for movies

Postby manwithaplan » Tue Oct 23, 2012 12:06 pm

Guys, my movies are showing up and playing just fine, but unlike my music, the covers do not appear, so that when viewing in the web UI, it looks sloppy. I maintain perfect album art for all music, works perfectly, and I do this by embedding the album art to every file (no cover.jpg or things like that). For Movies, I use Subler to apply perfect movie covers to my .m4v files that result from Handbrake 0.98. The movie covers show up fine in iTunes coverflow, but for some reason these embedded covers do not show at all in Subsonic. What am I missing? Thanks very much guys, I am liking 4.7 VERY much, and it has re-inspired me to leverage Subsonic much more. Just need to polish a few things before going "live".
Subsonic 5.2.1 on 2009 Apple XServe w/ Yosemite Server 10.10.5; 96GB RAM. Lots of Music - High Rez, native DSD streaming, and otherwise.

Crickets here, hmmm....well, I have a workable workaround for now. I have made sure that my music folders do not contain any cover.jpg files or the like (because, again, all my album art is embedded in the FLAC file metadata), and then I've gone and taken the nice movie poster art embedded by Subler in all of my Handbrake encodes and copied it out to a file called cover.png inside of each movie's folder. Then, setting Subsonic to look for *only* cover.png for album art, it ends up displaying from there only for my movies, as desired.

It's not elegant, but it works.
