Is there an app for the Surface?

I tried to find the app in the Windows 8 app store, and I couldn't. I would be interested in using it on my Windows 8 desktop or on my Surface tablet.

Regards.

Well you can use any of the windows apps on your win 8 desktop (or surface pro for that matter)...in terms of surface rt, someone would have to write an app for that...

Couldn't you just use the browser on it and run the full blown Subsonic web UI?

Great question. I have the Win 8 RC running and I can run flash on that and all my Subsonic stuff plays back, but that's no guarantee that we'll be able to do the same on the final version or on RT. I'm up against the same issue with my Galaxy SIII phone as Jelly Bean locks out any attempt to load flash and I've lost the ability to play back videos when I recently flashed a Jelly Bean rom onto the phone and had to revert back to ICS.

EDIT: Solved the Android issue from instructions here:

It doesn't. I use Chrome on Win 8 but I was not aware that it wouldn't run on RT intil I saw your post and checked.

"Get a fast, free web browser

Google Chrome runs websites and applications with lightning speed.
Download Chrome
For Windows 8/7/Vista/XP. Not available for Windows RT."

I doubt that this is a commonly known fact.

Has anyone had any luck with subsonic on the Surface RT yet?
IE10 on the Surface comes with an embedded version of flash, but it is not recognized by Subsonic. Adobe has dedicated a page to compatibility issues with the version of Flash in IE10 on the Surface, but none of their suggestions helped (http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/ ... 8-arm.html). I even tried manually white listing my SubSonic site in the IE Compatibility list.
I have also tried using MiniSub with no luck. The site opens with minimal issues (a few minor alignment issues), but nothing plays.
External player has also yielded nothing. "Music" launches, but does nothing.

I would also be interested in a app for Windows 8. I pretty much avoid the web ui whenever possible since it is so awful to navigate in.

Typical MS. Subsonic runs fine in the browser on my Win 8 box in the rraditional IE 10 desktop browser, but if I try to connect from the Metro tile browser it says "This page cannot be displayed"

Go figure.

Leave it to MS to screw up everything that used to work just fine and then blame it on their users for not staying up to date.

Win 8 makes Vista look attractive.

To amend my last post, I finally got the subsonic site working on the Surface. I must have modified the wrong section of the white-list last time. Here's the instructions for changing the list (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthr ... ?t=1961793). After adding my server I am now able to play music and video to play via flash on my surface.
