getRandom by genre

In the REST API is a getRandom call which can be restricted by genre. Does anyone know if there is any magic list of genres that can be used, or just anything that matches the tags in your files? I can't even figure out if there is a way to search by genre's or look at the list of genre's available via the web interface.

I think that pulldown of genres in the More section of the web interface comes from the search index of your files. When I look at mine, it is definitely not based off any standard list but what is actually in my files. Sorry, no idea how I'd pull that list via the rest api though.
