bug when adding many files in android app

If I add a folder containing many other folders and files, not all files/folders gets added to the playlist.

The folder in my case contains 100 subfolders with each containg about 20 files.
A total of about 4000 files.

Is there a limit in number of files that can be added at once to a playlist or its it a bug?
