Combining servers and other newbie questions!

Hi all! Just installed Subsonic on my Linux server and it seems to be working great, but I have some questions:

1. If I install Subsonic on a second server, can I combine the contents of both? So for instance, I'll be able to see both server on my iPhone via iSub?
2. On the home screen, can you show just videos or just music?
3. Surprised to see Subsonic supports video and it seems to stream MKVs very well to the net and my iPhone! Anything to look out for here in terms of format or size?

Many thanks :-)

1. Yes, Subsonic can be installed on as many servers as you like using the same license key. Any number of servers can simultaneously access the same music library. I don't usr the iSub app, but on the Android app you can define up to 3 servers for access in the settings. I run 3 variants of the Android app giving me acces to 3 on each app or the potential to define up to 9 individual servers to access from my phone.

2. No, not at present. I've never understood why the Main browser window isn't restricted to displaying the selected folder(s) in the left column. I have a request in to fix this in the Madsonic mod, so it may appear in Madsonic some time soon.

3. Video support and playback results are a bit tricky and can be complicated to get right. You seem to be getting good results so I'd recommend the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" strategy. Hardware power, connection speeds and transcoding settings are the most important factors.

Thanks for the response!

Is there anyway to get SS to scan more than once a day?

Thanks for the link! How would I get this to work on a Linux system? Sorry, I know very little about scripts on Linux.
