Bug Report: Infinite Loop

If you generate a random playlist and a song appears twice, it will create a infinite play loop between the duplicates. When it finishes playing the duplicate instance, it jumps back to play the song right after the first instance. You can just select a song outside the loop to continue on but its hard to notice until its annoying.

I logged a ticket for this here:

http://sourceforge.net/p/subsonic/bugs/79/

If you search this forum, I think you will find that is a longstanding bug...not too hopeful it will ever be fixed...

Fix: When you create your playlists, just remove the second (and third, etc...) instance of the repeated song.

When I generate playlists from withing Madsonic, I hope to end up with about 100 songs or so, which can last me an 8-hour work day. I generate the list with anywhere from 150 to 200 songs, then sort by name, and remove duplicates (unless they are from different artists and/or different albums, such as a studio release and a "live" version). Then I shuffle the playlist a couple times, then save it.

It's a little bit of work, but no errors.
