Best of Two..

The upgrade from 4.6 to 4.7 gave me two things.

- Minisub is working great! no more NaN-Nan-Nan 12:AM on the field Created, wich I had in 4.6 subsonic server version.

But,

- In 4.6 I could add MP3 CD's to a folder and it showed up right away, so I could edit it.

In 4.7 I kinda have to wait for a couple of days for new added folders show up (Yes even read or empty database and read again won't work). I cannot edit "on the fly" anymore!

Now I am using two server systems, subsonic and vibe streamer. I love subsonic because of so many great people who make app's. But I love vibe streamer cause my latest added 50 CD's are shown when I want it. How come 4.6 subsonic did the same, but installing 4.7 it's just a miracle if Recently Added maps are showing? (Clearing database and reading it again doesn't work).
My respect goes out to those people who build these music systems! I wish I was able to combine the best of the two systems.

There is another thing. Why isn't there a catalogue of subsonic servers? Should I build it, just let me know!

I think I solved the problem. I store my mp3's like this: Music Collection/Genre/Artist/Album and when I add an artist this folder is dated "today". But the Genre folder doesn't change (creation) date. So when subsonic starts indexing (Music Collection/Genre) it doesn't index (rescan) the recently added albums under the Genre folder since this folder did't change date. I solved this little problem by installing attribute changer 7 "ac.exe". You can download it on: http://www.petges.lu/home/download/

Once I installed it I changed the attribute "modified on" time (use right click after installing ac.exe) from one of my genres folder to "date today" then I scanned my collection again and voila all recently added albums under the Genre I modified finally showed up.

For anyone who has the same problem, this could be the solution, until someone find out a way to change "modified on" time automatically once you copy paste anything into that folder, or subsonic ignores the dates on the added main media folders. It's not the date on the mediafolder that counts, it's the date on the artist-album folder that matters. For all I know this was never an issue in subsonic 4.6 (In 4.6 new albums showed up immediatly once you added them into a media folder). I encountered this problem only when I updated to 4.7 (been switching between 4.6 and 4.7 a couple of times).

Great find. Explains why a "touch" of the top level folders works...

Upgrading to version 4.8 solved the problem, if you put a new album in a folder, just refresh the list and your album appears. Thanx subsonic!
