What determines whether a player displays in the drop-down?

When third-party clients like iSub create their players in Subsonic, those players aren't visible from the Web interface's drop-down list. Does anyone know what controls whether they display? Is it a field in the "player" table in the database?

Android players do show up in the web interface... Not sure why isub wouldn't...
