Subsonic Forum

I run Subsonic on a Vortexbox and just upgraded to 4.9. I was very happy to see the addition of GENRE available, but the dropdown box is empty. I know I have files that are tagged for Genre, but I also know that Subsonic was originally not using tags for searches, but just file structures. How does GENRE work in 4.9 and how do I enable its use and listing of GENREs that I have. I have about 50000 song files. I am not using any add-ons or other apps with subsonic right now. DO I need to?
