Remote music library cleaning

Postby mrdrew » Tue Feb 04, 2014 4:19 am

I have lots of spare time at work. I'd love to be able to comb through my music collection fixing tags, getting the folders/albums sorted out. Usually the best way to do this is via Media Monkey and mass tagging, as well as mass file operations. Anyone have any ideas on how to do mass tagging, and maybe file operations remotely?

Perhaps not ideal but you could set up a VPN then access your Subsonic host using VNC.

I've got the VPN setup already, but then I'd have to VNC to a Windows computer running that copy of Media Monkey I normally use right? Good grief! heh

Yes using VNC to control Media Monkey would work. I wouldn't mess with it but you said you had a bunch of time. :-) Maybe someone will offer a better solution.

Just another way to the same thing.. but I prefer chrome remote desktop extension ( use full screen in the drop down) followed by Teamviewer. Try both to see which you prefer.

I use teamviewer for this task for the same reason. I love getting paid to work on this.
