I am using Subsonic in External Player with Playlist mode with VLC. I have Max Bitrate set to no limit. If I'm playing an mp3, it's fine, Subsonic sends the original file. When I play something lossless like FLAC however it transcodes to 128k mp3 (you can see the bitrate in VLC by looking at the media info panel). Is there any way to have it use a higher bitrate?
Subsonic 4.9
Mac OS X 10.9.1

Select the Max Bitrate to 256 then.
Subsonic just defaults to 128 if you put no limit. That's what happens with me, at least. I want subsonic to transcode to 320 so I put the Max Bitrate at 320 and it works.

Just replace 192 with 256 or 320.....

That may be true, but it isn't available for Mac

BTW, thanks for the tips, guys. I've got it working nicely now.
