I completely do not understand this "improvement". I understand if you want to play an entire album how you could do that easily now...but you could do it easily before with a single click...a couple of easy and very intuitive ways, clicking play icon on the album itself or opening the album and clicking play all at the top of the screen. Now clicking on play next to a song plays that song and every song numerically after it on the album??!!??? Is that a feature people wanted?? "Wow, I like this song and the 4 songs that numerically come after it in this folder! I want this to happen by default!!" Very, very odd. And what if you have a folder full of singles? Say a whole bunch of Doo-Wop songs from the 50s in a single folder?? Clicking on one plays every alphabetical one after it too? By DEFAULT!?! NON-CONFIGURABLE!!!??? Who would want that?!? And choosing Play Last is not the same. Play Last adds to end of your current queue, it is not a play command, it is a queue command. It involves clearing queues...shuffling playlists...just messing around a whole lot more than should be necessary to play a song.

I'm guessing this was done to make subsonic "similar" to some other product out there. If that's true, you chose a bad program to mimic (it's probably that abomination iTunes)

This has been covered before in other threads As a feature request, I think it should be a toggle feature. In principle, it indeed mimics Google Music (and others, but hardly the abomination of iTunes, on which we agree). You want a 'Play Once'...'Play Last' is the same, but only if you aren't already in an existing playlist, as you note, but if you are already playlisting, I don't see the value of returning back to Play Once...it interrupts and increases workflow, which seems to be what you're complaining about. On the Doo Wop song, you can Play Once (Last), or queue the folder (alpha) and/or hit shuffle within minimal clicks. I don't find this more fiddly than before...I find it easier.
