No internet radio

Postby mapomme1108 » Mon Oct 30, 2017 1:42 pm

Hello,

I use Subsonic's standalone version on Windows 10

Everything works fine except the internet radio : I can add internet radio and the internet radio are in the list but they can not be played.

What could be the problem?

Thanks!

Hi mapomme1108,

I am facing the same issue. Looks like it is a subsonic bug. Let's hope it will be fixed in the next version. Looks like the same issue was already observed a while ago and not yet fixed:

But lets hope the best.

I've just upgraded to version 6.1.4 (build c43f63) and the radio player is still broken.

If I look at the page with the Chrome Console open, I see the log line 'Sending APH Request' appear immediately before I get the following error show up: Uncaught TypeError: Cannot assign to read only property 'message' of object '#<MediaError>'

i don't know if there's an easy way to test but it may be that the internet radio provider has blocked access. I know that Radionomy stations stopped allowing playback through independent services like Subsonic a while ago.

Can you try to add a station from a totally different source/broadcaster?

Maybe just take the streaming URL from the configuration screen and paste it directly into the browser's address bar? It should attempt to play it and maybe can tell you if there's an error more directly.

I'm running the most recent version of Subsonic, and internet radio is working fine for me. I listen to WFMU and used the streaming URL http://wfmu.org/wfmu.pls

I suspect that Acroyear is right, and some internet radio providers are blocking access. Fortunately (for me, at least) my favorite station is still working.

Internet radio wasn't working for me because of the older version of ffmpeg distributed with Subsonic on Debian. I replaced it with https://johnvansickle.com/ffmpeg/ (latest version) and now it works.
