Corrupted Database

Do anyone have instructions for troubleshooting corrupted databases yet? Seems every so often My DB will grow and get borked. Especially if I add in movies/tv to the media. I don't even have that much non music media comparatively but the db grows to 12gb+ and eventually craps out.

Is there some sort of health checks that should be performed or internal maintenance/consistency checks?
