I have a few questions that I can't find the answer to.

1. Does Subsonic have a sound leveler available? Some of my music appears to be very loud and others very soft. Wasn't sure if there was a mode/feature that could be turned on that can help keep the volume at a semi-constant level.

2. Is there any compatibility with Android Auto? I tried to use the app in Android Auto, but Subsonic didn't come up as an app when I went to Audio apps. Is this a feature to consider later?

3. Any idea why some of my songs seem to get stuck and not start playing? Granted, I'm at work and possible that there could be other issues at play. But if I click the next song, the song plays immediately. All of my songs are hosted locally on my Microsoft Surface (which is acting as my server).

1) no. sorry. Might want to search around the forums, maybe somebody has an ffmpeg setting that can equalize things?

2) DSub (which is derived from the official app's source code, but uses a material design UX) is fully Android Auto compatible. I use it all the time on long trips. I've heard that in auto mode it live-streams rather than pulls from the local cache, but I didn't seem to have any problems with it when in cell dead zones.

There's also SubFire Dash (yeah, shameless plug), which is a Progressive Web App for Chrome Android (works ok in Firefox and ios as well, but Chrome is the most tested). It has an android-auto 'like' interface as far as the player goes, but doesn't integrate with maps or any other services. I use the window-in-window feature for maps. The SubFire apps don't cache.

3) I have seen long delays for some tracks starting up while others come up instantly, and no I can't explain why. It is annoying, but I haven't really tried to dig in to figure it out. Maybe it has something to do with what service/system encoded the file? e.g., are you seeing things better or worse from mp3s purchased vs mp3s you ripped in iTunes or something like that?
