That was easy. Thanks to Velcs0's post
I was able to get Subsonic running on my OS X macmini pretty quickly.
Subsonic plays MP3 out of the box, but all my music files are Flac and Shorten.
*I know very little about unix*, but I had previously installed Jinzora
so I had already learned how to:
./configure
make
make install
Shorten ( http://shorten.mac.findmysoft.com/download/ )
Flac ( http://flac.sourceforge.net/download.html )
Lame ( http://lame.en.softonic.com/mac )
In terminal, I know enough to:
defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE
killall Finder
So I was able to find the Shorten, Lame & Flac apps ( /usr/local/bin/ )
and copy them to:
/private/var/subsonic/transcode
I'm really in business. Very, very cool. Thank You Sindre.
I'd be happy to send the Flac, Lame & Shorten apps I'm using on my Intel Mac to be included in the Standalone installation.
Windows users already enjoy this benefit:
( http://sourceforge.net/projects/subsoni ... p/download )
I don't know if those apps have dependencies that make this not helpful.
