Guess I'm going to need some handholding: Windows/Android

While on the same wifi network, I can get my Android phone to stream from my W7 computer. I then attempted to connect via 3G and when that failed, I tried a separate wifi network, which also failed.

The router is 2Wire 3800HGV-B and my service is AT&T U-Verse. I followed the general guide for this router here.

I set up a firewall exception for Port 80 and I get "Connection Failure. Connection to http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:80 refused."

In the web interface, I have it set to forward to my custom server (will be happy to donate if I ever figure this out) and it says it responds successfully. It does not find my router at all.

Where to from here? TIA :)

Most ISP's don't allow you to host a server on port 80. Try using another open port, adjust your firewall rules, and change it under "settings" in the subsonic control panel. Make sure to restart subsonic and your router after you make the changes.

Will do. Is there a port that people have had success with that are in a similar situation? Not sure how to pick besides rolling a D100 :D

Set it to port 9000, rebooted phone, computer and router, and it works! I'm VERY happy now.

I'm going to test this app thoroughly and at the end of the trial, if its doing what I need, I'll happily donate 14 bucks to bridge the gap between now and gingerbread OTA music streaming.

Thanks guys! Image
