What a bunch of crap, I pay 5 or 6 bucks to use the app on my phone just to find out I need to donate another 15 - 30 just to use the app past the 30 day mark! I will not be telling anyone about this program!

Also the Android app is free while the iPhone apps are third party software utilizing SS server services.

I saw this here after I had issues (past 30 days) and paid for the iphone app. I could not stream anymore to my phone and my research found a forum entry that they had to donate to fix the problem, and it is on the bottom of this page: http://z-subsonic.com/index.php?option= ... 3&Itemid=5

If you have not already installed Subsonic server, please visit Subsonic.org for more information. Subsonic server is open-source and requires a donation to use beyond 30 days.

thats pretty contradictory...

how it can be free if if you have to 'voluntarily' donate for full functionality?

so what exactly do you get for free then? just the web interface/player?

Not sure as the ONLY reason I bought this was because the simplify music app went bye bye. I tell you what though I will write some bad reviews about this and make sure that all my friends don't buy it! Nothing like charging you two times!

First of all z-subsonic and Subsonic are two different products, and has nothing to do with each other. So to come here and screaming about being ripped off
and that this sucks big time are quite offensive and rude.

If you had read about the program you bought (z-subsonic), and, or at least found the time to read about Subsonic it selves, before making the purchase
you'd be much better off right now.

So, blame this on your selves and your own laziness, and remember this the next time you act before thinking and doing.

Pleeeease, go whine somewhere else :-{(

Bs they are directly related for what I was doing. If they were not then I would not have this problem. If both programs are required to do this they are related whether separate or not. It is Very misleading to post that your product will do this and then cut someone off 30 days in after they purchased the app. Sketchy business at best!

Well, then you should not blame subsonic.
Subsonic has newer promised you anything else than what are stated on the home page. Maybe you should share the blame with the developer of the app?

" You do not blame Compaq when Windows or Office crashes, do you?"

or for that sake

" Bitch VW for not putting a fucking Ferrari engine in your Golf?"

The presentation was that they were the same association so your comparisons are way off base, and it's vw not wv. To think you were Talking about paying attention.

Form the Z-Subsonic description on the AppStore:

Application Description
Z-Subsonic streams your entire music collection (WMA, FLAC, MP3, AAC, OGG and more) securely to your iPhone/iPod/iPad without going through a third-party server.
Z-Subsonic is a client to the popular Subsonic open-source music streaming server.
Features:
★ Access your entire music library from anywhere on your iPhone, iPod or iPad regardless of the size of your music collection
★ Clean and intuitive user interface
★ Play song formats that the iPhone/iPod/iPad will not normally play e.g. WMA, FLAC, OGG as well as ACC and MP3
★ Delete or change song priority on the Now Playing list while songs are playing
★ Optimized buffer so songs play smoothly over slow networks while also starting quickly
★ Queue the same song multiple times
★ Load playlists stored on the Subsonic server
★ Pre-configure multiple server connections
★ Playlist shuffle function
★ Repeat a song or entire playlist
★ Full song information caching
★ Songs are cached so subsequent playbacks do not require network connectivity
★ Tap on the album art to see an enlarged version
★ Z-Subsonic is preset with connection information to a test Subsonic server so you can test the software even before setting up your own server.
★ SSL Support
★ Favorites
IF YOU NEED HELP, PLEASE POST YOUR QUESTION ON THE DEDICATED FORUM AT Z-SUBSONIC.COM OR EMAIL SUPPORT@Z-SUBSONIC.COM
Please note, Z-Subsonic requires Subsonic server (http://subsonic.org) to function. To continue using the API feature of Subsonic beyond 30 days, the developer requires it to be licensed. The API feature allows client software to connect to Subsonic without using the web interface. You can get a license by donating to the Subsonic project. More information is available at http://www.subsonic.org/pages/apps.jsp. Please note that using Subsonic through the web interface never requires licensing.

Contradictory how? I've been using Subsonic well before there were any mobile apps, and it has always been free with option to donate. I have no idea how much some third-party charges for their app, but if I was interested in using said app, I would RESEARCH it, UNDERSTAND its requirements, and DECIDE whether it's worth the monies and arrangements. Then I would look less foolish for whining when I felt duped.

I don't think you have been misled by the Subsonic developer at all. There is a box on the home page of the application which says you can donate to access premium features and it very clearly states that one of those features is..

"Unlimited use of Subsonic apps for iPhone, Android and AIR."

20 Euros is a small price to pay as far as I am concerned. Subsonic is a great product

You doped people lack ability to comprehend some things, that's way you will always be doped by everything, not only by subsonic.

Next time try to read and understand. Primarely subsonic supports streaming, playing music, and it does that. It doesn't give access to API (usefull for 3rd party applications - not written by author of Subsonic) for free.
I just know.
