I have a 64-bit Windows 7 machine. I need to stream FLAC from it, but for now I'm trying to get subsonic working with mp3 files only.
My remote device (a HiFi uPnP box) can see the WMP media server on the PC no problem. It can also see and use a Twonky media streamer I installed as a test. It can't see the Subsonic server which I have installed.
Subsonic installed fine and works on localhost. I had to change the ports as I've a few webservers running already. I created myself an account, changed the default pasword etc. It finds and plays my media locally, from the Win 7 PC.
However I can't see the uPnP server on the local LAN. The HiFi box and the PC are connected to the same router and as above, the Box can see the PC media servers, but not the Subsonic one.
But it's unclear to me how this works; I've no way on the box of specifying any authentication (user/pw) details, so I need to set up Subsonic to allow anonymous access from my LAN. Can I do that?
I think I may have missed something obvious here, but I just want to be able to run Subsonic on one machine, and access it on the other, but I don't have a browser on the HiFi Box, so the server has to be uPnP accessible and anonymously accessed.
I disabled my Windows firewall and that's not it. I also had a look at the rules and they look fine. The router is already making the machines visible to each other or I'd not get WMP and Twonky working...
(I want to use Subsonic because WMP won't play FLAC and although Twonky will it looks pretty horrid and seems more video oriented).
Can anyone help with that please?
