Code: Select all
ffmpeg -loglevel error -v 0 ...

-loglevel loglevel

Set the logging level used by the library. loglevel is a number or a string containing one of the following values: quiet OR panic OR fatal OR error OR warning OR info OR verbose OR debug

-v number

Set the logging verbosity level.

Great hint, thanks stozher!
So the loglevel determines WHAT is logged, and the verbosity determines HOW MUCH of it?
I found my linux version of ffmpeg (FFmpeg version SVN-r19352-4:0.5+svn20090706-2ubuntu2.2) does not recognise the "-loglevel <string> or <number>" nor the "--loglevel ..." for that matter.
Maybe someone else can confirm that, but it looks like linux users should look no more after the loglevel option. Suffice with setting "-v number" for the verbosity level.
Just to be sure/clarify it for non CLI users ;)
