No Animated GIF as avatars????
Posted: Fri Feb 18, 2011 5:19 pmI uploaded a small animated gif file to our subsonic page as my avatar, but it doesn't actually animate. Why wouldn't this work? It's just a web page, this kinda blows my mind.

I honestly don't understand why it doesn't work, it's a webpage that we're talking about. Ani-GIFs are certainly supported in all web browsers. Anyway, it's obviously no big deal, but it would be cool if it worked.

Posted: Fri Apr 17, 2015 12:54 amIf it's just for your avatar, animated GIFs *should* work - they just have to be a certain size. I've been successful using them so long as they're scaled to 50x50 pixels. There are utilities such as gifsicle that will do the conversion without issue.
