Is there an ability to create DL link without logging in?

Subsonic is such a powerful tool, I use it for various things besides music and video. I allowed several different file types to be recognized so I can access epub files, non-music zips, even android apps. This thing seems to have endless possibilities.

Anyways, on to my question. I am not sure if anyone else would find this useful but it would be great if I could create a download link something similar to the public folder in Dropbox so that I can send someone a link to directly download a movie or album directly from my server without needing to log into subsonic with a user ID, password. Has anyone heard of such a thing?

If you're using Windows, access SS externally, and simply nav to the file/folder you want, and on the D (download) link, right-click and select Copy Link Address. You can then send this link, or paste it into an url-shortener like tinyurl, etc. and share that. If you try this locally, you'll only get the local, non-routable address!

Just go into the Android app settings and allocate sufficient Cache Size to download what you want. Also set the Songs to preload to Unlimited. You will then have what you want saved to the phone to do whatever you want.
