Video files up in WHS server

Postby cga » Mon Apr 18, 2011 5:46 pm

I have just installed subsonic on my main PC and it is great. I definitely leave my HP WHS player over this one

I just want to ask a quick question so that I can decide whether I install subsonic in my main PC or on my WHS server 2003

At the moment I have it installed on my main PC and I can play videos I have locally on my main machine. I was trying to point to movies I have up in the server from my main PC \\HPSTORAGE\Videos and it didn’t work
Can I point to videos up in my server if I have it installed in my main PC or videos have to be locally on the main PC

Will it work if I install it on my WHS server?

Thanks
I love Subsonic

You will need to change the user account that the subsonic server runs under to be a valid username and password on the remote file server.

I'm sure Gary is getting ready to post his "standard" link... but I think this is it:

Thanks for your quick reply. I decided to go for WHS installation and it is up and running

I have changed my ports to 8080 and 440 and it works as a dream either with my IP address or my home server name

It’s a pity I didn’t find it before

Very happy with subsonic

Cheers
I love Subsonic

C'mon... who trusts an application with a name like "Twonky" anyway!?!
