Bug - Subsonic 4.5 - Got range: Range[X,X]

Postby FrankSpierings » Fri Aug 26, 2011 5:55 am

I just wanted to report a bug I noticed during several songs.

These songs all worked fine during 4.4. Now some songs suddenly stop at a certain point, while using the web/flash player. I cleared all the Macromedia/Adobe/Flash caches, but that doesn't seem to help. It also seems (but I'm not sure) that it occurs after I've skipped to a certain part in a song. Next time I play that song, it will stop at the part where I skipped it too the previous time. Still, I can't always reproduce this problem!
The subsonic log shows entries like:

Got range: Range[589122,589122]
Got range: Range[7254003,7254003]

I deployed subsonic 4.5 by simply symlinking the new .war. Switching back to the previous version (4.4) has resolved this issue for now. The songs that wouldn't play anymore (up to a certain point), now work again.

Just wanted to let you know. Thanks for the hard work!

I think it happens when Google Chrome is caching a song and suddenly you change to other song (caching process not finished). Then when you come back to the previous song, It tries to play the incomplete cached song and you get the error.

At least that is what's happening to me...
If you clear Google Chrome's cache solves the problem with those songs. (Ctrl+Shift+Del)

Thanks and sorry for my english

Yes deleting the browser cache does solve these problems and thank you for sharing (and reminding us of the ctrl /shift /del shortcut for chrome)
Everyone is entitled to be stupid, Image but some abuse the privilege!

Due to the confusion from too many genres of music, we have decided to put both country music and rap music into the genre of Crap music.

Bug remains in 4.7. Just got it, and have gotten it a few times. Not sure if this is a chrome bug to subsonic one, but frustrating.

Yeah, I don´t think there is anything one can do to Subsonic to prevent you from closing the browser or skip the track mid-streaming.
Just my 2c.

#Edit
Or if it is the flash player that is the problem you can block it from saving files to your computer.
You can clear the flash cache from http://www.macromedia.com/support/docum ... ger07.html
