External players. Can someone clear up a few things?

Postby xDeepS » Mon Sep 19, 2011 4:01 pm

Hey guys, I stumbled upon SubSonic while researching about what to choose between Google Music and Amazons Cloud Player. And am glad I found this.

So my question is when I press play on the external player, the web ui sends a play.m3u to the browser which i open in WMP. Is there a way to skip songs and add new songs from the web ui without having to redownload the play.m3u everytime you queue new songs?

And what is the jukebox mode? Is that what I might be looking for?

Love this, I am a web designer so I might actually release a theme in the coming months if I get my friends hooked to it :)

Jukebox mode

From SS webui settings/players
Play music directly on the audio device of the Subsonic server. (Authorized users only).

If your server has a sound card and is connected to your amp

With regard to your questions about external players if you use external player with playlist you can skip tracks.
Also from SS webui settings/players
Same as above, but the playlist is managed by the player, rather than the Subsonic server. In this mode, skipping within songs is possible.

Everyone is entitled to be stupid, Image but some abuse the privilege!

Due to the confusion from too many genres of music, we have decided to put both country music and rap music into the genre of Crap music.
