Subsonic Forum

Is there a way to have subsonic not redirect to the currently playing folder? Because I use a networked freenas drive for my music, subsonic is extremely slow to display titles, oftentimes a couple minutes to display a folder. So, oftentimes I will click on the folder I want, then go do something else as I wait. However, if I wait too long, subsonic automatically redirects back to the currently playing or last played folder which means I have to click and wait again. I hope this is somewhat clear. For example, if you drill down into a folder, and click the play all. Then go back up to the root or any other folder. Wait about a minute or so, and you will see subsonic will direct your page back to the folder of the music currently playing. I just want to turn that off if possible.

There is no setting to do what you want however if you go back to the home page the playing now view will not appear

The problem is that as I try to load my playlist, switching folders takes so long. I generally just do something else while it loads, then select the next set of music I want, then go back to the main folder to add more. Sometimes, though, I get tired of waiting and do something else and if I don't come back to it soon enough, it switches to the now playing screen which means I have to browse back which just takes way too long.

As to your second suggestion to put it on the freenas box, I didn't know that was possible until today. That is what I am going to try and do. Thanks for the tip.

There is a way to stop Subsonic from redirecting to the "Playing" page every three minutes. What you need to do is edit the "Main.jsp" file. Towards the top of the file, in the head, there is a META Refresh. You can either change the value to your liking, or you can remove it completely. Hope this helps!
