Error when using filenames with strange characters

Postby tv0571 » Wed Nov 23, 2011 5:21 pm

Using version 4.4 on Ubuntu with iPhone ZSubsonic app.

Noticed that on albums that contain filenames containing characters with umlaut, or accents, etc... that
1) the file won't play in native subsonic on the local PC ; and
2) trying to access the folder using Zsubsonic causes an "error reaching host" or something like that.

Renaming the files to eliminate the special characters completely fixed the problem.

I did not need to eliminate the characters contained in the mp3 tags.

Not sure if that is a SS version or OS problem but using SS4.6beta2 and Windows there is no such problem with the web player. :?
No comment regarding Zsubsonic but it would make sense if SS cannot play locally then it will not work using the API.

Due to the confusion from too many genres of music, we have decided to put both country music and rap music into the genre of Crap music.
