Is this possible yet? I had a quick look at the descriptions of the ones available on the store and couldn't see any reference to it. Must be said though, this is by far and away the best media streamer I've come across. Will deffo be investing in a donation if it all goes smoothly over the next 30 days :)

Don't take this as any sort of a definitive answer, but, from what I understand, the block on this here, is that Apple only allows video to be streamed if it's in HTTP Live Streaming format. I just exchanged a few emails with the author of the iSub app, and he says that he does plan to get into implementing HTTP LS on the Subsonic side sometime in 2012.

I did find two different workarounds for this problem in webOS, but I'm pretty sure that they aren't possible in iOS - the first one involves using an external video player from the app, that is capable of playing FLV, and the other involves launching a web browser that has Flash support to startup the JWPlayer that is apparently included in Subsonic.

I use air video on my server to stream video to my iphone/ios devices.

On windows or mac air video seems pretty easy to install. I have it running on my linux box and it was a pain to get working but there are some good folks at inmethod who have worked out the steps and you should be able to do pretty easily should you choose to.

It works perfectly and is a nice compliment to subsonic on IOS.

Great advice, thanks! Managed to get it running on my server without too much fuss via wine.
