Is anyone interested on accessing subsonic through a *nix command line interface? something like MOC:
http://moc.daper.net/I can help on the development if others are interested to contribute.

What would be the biggest benefits of a command line music interface? It sounds intriguing and I would love to know what additional features a CLI would provide.

for example, I'm thinking to plugg on my stereo player a raspberry py board
http://www.raspberrypi.org/ connected through network with my subsonic server, and then I want to be able to remotlly control (ssh) the music playback on the raspberry py using my computers, I'm pretty confortable doing it with a command line interface, something like mocp will be perfect.

I have also thought about this - mainly to use with my Raspberry Pi.
Instead of SSH-control, I thought about having a light-weight client/server with a restful-api, so that it could
easily be controlled by e.g. a phone. That way, multiple players in the house could be controlled by the phone -
I could even use bluetooth or something to detect what device to connect to as default.
No development plans as of yet, but the ideas are there.

yup, I'm trying to do this right now.
Using crunchbang waldorf, and trying to add /media on raspi subsonic through gigolo on crunchbang.
I think if the config file for mocp is fiddled with it can access networked folders (I know it can), but I'm not sure how to configure the subsonic folders- which, if only connected to through ssh will not stream- subsonic is obviously needed to stream.
So, perhaps, the way to go round this is not to network folders, but to use the ip address/uri of the subsonic stream itself.
Seems this was a thinking process, rather than much of a post. I think it needs to be the ip itself that mocp connects to, because it has to be able to stream, which ssh wont do.
