Streaming through portable Hotspot connection - Android

I created a portable hotspot on my Nexus S and connected to my laptop(subsonic server) to that.

I am able to access the server and list out all the music.

However, i am not able to listen to music using the "Hotspot" the song gets downloaded using my mobile data connection(either 2G/3G).

Is there a way to make subsonic download the song using the portable hotspot connection itself?

PS: When i turn on RC(remote control) the song gets played on the server using portable hotspot connection itself rather than the mobile data connection.

Kindly, help me out here.

You need to set up a 'Local' server in the Android App (called eg. 'HotSpot') that is your fixed IP of your server. For example, the Nexus S IP is 192.168.1.1, and you manually assign the IP 192.168.1.2 for your server/laptop. Create a HotSpot server entry, with the path 192.168.1.2. All activity would stay within your local wlan.

I remember that once when using my phone as a hotspot that all of the devices that connected to my phone were on a different subnet than my phone, you might want to look into that.
