Subsonic Forum

Hello all,

I upgraded to 4.7b2 yesterday and I now have the following issues :

1. my ios devices can't list anything anymore using Isub. I get a 0 folder result
2. my subsonic server scans files every night a 3am...but when i wake up, it's still scanning files...it slows down the whole thing and I believe that it could have something to do with the fact I can't list anything using isub (because the scan didn't finish yet?).

what happens exactly since 4.7 ? is the scan procedure in any way different that with v4.6 ?
I'm really thinking about downgrading...that really sad because the new staring system really seems nice...

If you guys have any idea to fix that...thanks

Yep it's a lot slower
It is gathering a bit more info now as the artist and album names are gathered from the tags rather then the folder names.
It took just under 12 hrs to scan my library - from what I can remember it took 4.x? about 4-5hrs for an initial scan (clean install).
Hopefully re-scans will be as quick as 4.6 (about 40mins for me)
I reverted back to 4.6 due to an issue with the top rated function locking up SS for about 5 mins every time.

Ok so now 4.7 scans the id3 tags ? that's actually great news that will greatly improve the search results.
the only "problem" is that I wont schedule a daily scan anymore as it completely f*cks up my cpu every time it scans.
I'm already dreaming about real searchs like "GENRE IS xxxx" like in foobar

but 3 questions remains :

- when scanning the tags with foobar, the scan runs WAY faster. any idea ?
- does it mean that subsonic now uses a real database like mysql or postgresql ?
- if not, is it the reason of this slowness ? is there any way to make subsonic use a postgresql or other kind of real db to speed up to process?

and last but not least, i think that at the moment, every time you scan, the whole library is rescanned, it dont seems to go faster the second time you do it. liske a full scan - > incremental scan. Is it ?

It has always used a "real database" HQSL

ok but where are the db files located ? and why does it take SO much time to scan ?
my point is that if it scans id3 tags...it could suposedly take the same average time to scan that foobar right ?
