Hi!

I've installed Subsonic on Ubuntu, it works on my LAN, and I like it.
On the LAN, we can see what a user is listening to...

But, I can't figure out how to do a streaming...
I mean, I want to play a song (or playlist) on machine A and listen it in machine A, B, C, etc... at the same time, like a radio.

Is it posible?
I thought that was the meaning of the word streaming,
maybe I am wrong...
So, what do you mean with "streaming"?

Thanks for your help!

In order to do that just navigate to (your ip adress):8080 if you are using the stand alone. You may need to open the port 8080 through your router or firewall to get access outside your lan.

So for example for me i would navigate to 127.0.0.1:8080 in my favorite web browser.

If you have a dynamic ip you might want to use something like dyndns.com to make it easier to remember your ip.

If you mean play a song on Machine A and have it transmit that song at the same time to Machine A, B, C. Then that I don't know how to do. The previous 3 paragraphs will allow you to play the same song on all 3 machines, but you are required to start it manually on the other 3 machines.

Define 'streaming'.

My experience so far is that the web player does not start playing until the entire file is transmitted.
It also send the 'stream' to the web player at the maximum throughput of my internet connection, despite bandwidth settings within Subsonic.

Is there some setting I have missed or is this a limitation of the web player?

EDIT: Now working properly. Do not know why, have not changed any settings since the problem.
