New Theme - BUUF

Postby fractalsystems » Sun Feb 06, 2011 7:12 pm

Hi, too bad I missed the 4.4 release.

@Sindre feel free to include this :D
Download the BUUF Theme (zipped)
**Link edited to reflect Updated Background**

AFTER EDIT, BETTER

The zip can be extracted and MERGED into your existing subsonic folder without screwing anything up. It will need to overwrite the folders and the theme.txt file.

I like it, but I know there are times the orange/golden text is hard to read. I'm looking for any way to add more customization - like controlling the font color in the lyrics frame.

**EDIT** Now I like it better...hope you do to. And, although I love Doom, the music note and film reel are much more neutral. Enjoy the BUUF

Hope you like it! Suggestions are more than welcome! Thanks!

I like it, nice warm colors and they fit together too. My only complaint is that text appearing over the background image is hard to read, if at all. The BG image could use a little fading out, maybe fade it out towards the main windows to keep readability but still retain the vivid colors where there wont be any text near the border of the main tab?

But if it wasnt for that and exams tomorrow, I'd be the first to test and shout "first" :)

Oh yeah almost forgot, does the name "BUUF" has any special meaning I'm missing? the overall look and feel comes across pretty consistent, like a carton theme or something...or is it just good design on your part?

BUUF comes from Jamaican slang: a term that describes someone getting insulted. The Artist: Paul Davey aka Mattahan (all rights reserved) is Jamaican himself. The original icon sets from his mattahan.deviantart.com page have some fantastic names. A lot of quotes from Jon Stewart, Colbert, Simpsons, ATHF, etc. I love BUUF and have it on all my OS's :-)

Well done! I only like clean white themes in everything I do but I love this theme. Great work!

bump.

Sindre, will this ever be included into the release?

Want me to commit it or setup a clone and ask for a push/pull?

Great to hear. Thanks. For any updates that come or any changes I need to make because of the base changing in some way...what's the best way to keep it up to date? git?

Thanks

Hi fractalsystems,
I hope you don't mind but I've also included your BUUF theme into my mod of Subsonic. I probably should have asked you if it's okay first and I apologize, so if you'd like me to take it out just let me know. Thank you for the great theme! :)

@califrag

That's perfectly fine, no problem at all. Is your mod released at all? what have you done to it?

I'll post any updates to the buuf theme - if any at all (possible fixes etc.) - to this thread until/if something ever becomes available.

Thanks

Cool thanks! :)

I've pre-released a version to get some feedback on bugs... I have a lot I need to fix, as I've broke some things...

Here is the thread for my mod, too many changes here to list: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=8036

Probably the biggest changes are the addition of drag and drop playlist sorting and ability to set home screen layout (rows/columns).

As a result of the modifications I've made, i've had to change around the original buuf theme files to work with what I've done (basically I've renamed a few and added\removed a couple).

Everything I'm doing is being synced into a separate subsonic branch so you will be able to see the 'updated' files if you need to.

I need to post an updated .war file and hopefully will be getting it uploaded tonight, I promised to upload a new one last night.
