holy crap, stanthewizzard,

well, after creating self-signed certificates and editing some plists due to not having a developer account and of course with your help, I was able to compile it successfully as archive - Still many warnings and possible suppressed errors but one step further :-)

Edit:
so it installs on my 4s ios8 beta but as expected it doesn't open because of the missing/unofficial provisioning/codesigning. Should open on a jailbroken iPhone but obviously thats not gonna happen soon. Don't know if there's a way without a paid developer account...

No it is not with xcode6 for the time being
Bought mine this afternoon
I'm going to work on that.

I'm thinking to work with a developer to goi beyond isub
And offer a new subsonic client for ios as good as I can test on Android

Not sure to be able to do that but very interested to try

How many of you could be interested

It'd be great if someone kept working on iSub! I really like the look and feel of Audiophone but it's lacking too many features.

I managed to get iSub working in the iPhone simulator myself, but then discovered that it's not possible to archive the app without a dev account. So an iOS 8 compatible version of iSub would be much appreciated!

I registered this account just to tell you that I would *love* continued iSub development.

Good News! :D According to the iSubApp Twitter Account: https://twitter.com/iSubApp

"#iSub iOS 8 compatibility update has been submitted. In the meantime if you're a dev and running GM, you can build from the GitHub repo."

ah, that's really great and made my day. Without a working iSub I wouldn't have updated to iOS8.

Hmm, damn. I should have checked this page before upgrading to 8, but at least I only did it on my iPad which I don't particularly care about.

He submitted that compatibility update on 9/11. How long should it reasonably take, and do we know what the specific issues are?

edit: I just checked git. It looks like the issue is covered. Thanks to whoever (caldwell?) submitted the fix.

I am very pleased to hear that iSub will be updated for IOS 8!

It's such a great app, I wish development would keep going... :-(

OK so I shouldn't update to iOS 8 (I'm on an iPhone 5, iOS 7) until the iSub update is available? iSub is the most important thing I use my phone for.
And I'm planning on getting an iPhone 6 within a month, so I really hope this happens.

Don't update until it works. I'm kind of in the same boat -- my iPhone is a glorified iPod because 95% of my use is iSub.

I ended up having to downgrade back to IOS7 within 30 minutes of initially updating to IOS8 last week when I realized iSub wasn't compatible yet.Thankfully I could still easily do it as it was prior to the official IOS8 release (no messing with SHSH blobs, etc).

Well, the iOS 8 compatibility fix is really a gentlemanly action on his part. I recently switched to Android, so I'm not even directly interested right now but damn... what a class act.

Hats off. :)

Anyone know when it will come?
I almost bought my iPhone 6 yesterday. The only reason I didn't is because of iSub.

To be sure, I'm very happy he's updating the client. But this is still a fundamental issue that won't go away - the only decent subsonic app for iOS essentially has no future. And there are no decent alternatives to Subsonic either.

I realize his career has taken him in other directions, but I feel somewhat orphaned.

Dropbox got an Update on 9/13, 9/17, 9/18, 9/20 - so many trash-apps get updates, just iSub is delayed.
Seems Apple has other priorities than we have.

Well I caved and bought my new iPhone.
So I'm off of subsonic for now unfortunately.
Since I got the 128gb model I have tons of room for music and I finally found a decent app (Eddy it's called) that let's you cache music (much like iSub) that's in your dropbox and box folders. Obviosuly this is a pain since I need to move music to said folders first.
But this will have to do until iSub works again.
