Hum downgrade to 4.6 beta 2 and now I can share on G+, Twitter, FB with my own domain ! Thanks a lot ! :roll: The official 4.6 (not beta, the final release) is not ok with your fix because the official dev fixed your fix, so... Please superman fix that :oops:

And I think there is now a fork of Subsonic : https://github.com/Mach5/supersonic because they don't want Open Source, they want Freedom... :mrgreen:

After installing your mod, and setting my SS URL in network settings (https://<domain>:453), when I click share (FB, Twitter, or G+), it just gives me this:

Share
To share your music with someone you must first register your own subsonic.org address.
Please go to Settings > Network (administrative rights required).

I stopped my SS server, copied the files over, and restarted the server. Ideas? I'm running the latest stable 4.6 - March 5, 2012.

EDIT: Solved my own issue. Even with setting my own domain, I still have to check the box for "Access your server over the Internet using an easy-to-remember address." Even though I put in tyconbob.subsonic.org, it reports an error 403 Forbidden (since I'm actually running HTTPS on 453). Not the cleanest, but it works well!

Thanks!!

It's ridiculous that this isn't part of the stock installation. Thank you, GreenTentacle, for working on it.

I would like to do this on 4.7 beta 3. Will this work?

Kind of a no-brainer feature to me. I have my own domain that's ssl, with certificate and since it doesn't use my domain name, users get ssl warning.

Agrreed.

And GreenTentacle, would it be possible to list the version it's at on the github site? That way we know what version it is.

A Windows Domain Controller is a totally different subject than this thread. But yes you can find all the tutorials you need on google or YouTube.

First let me admit that I'm a little slow. At 60 things just don't sink in as fast as they did when I was half as old as I am now.

With that out of the way, I still find your question a bit humorous after having spent about $200 on books and 3 years running a complex home network with 5 servers and 20 various computers, laptops. tablets, phones, etc. in a domain environment. About the best I can say is that we have a lot of the features working, and we actually understand some of them.

If you find that magic Youtube video you're looking for, be sure to post a link for me! :mrgreen:

i just did this for 4.7 at least you can do this until they fix the "mod" but this fix is more for people that already have custom jsp files.

WIll there be an update for version 4.7? As nice as that mod is... it's got way too much for me. I mainly just want the domain thing.

I thought I'd post my fix wich should work with any version.
There are two files to modify wich are located in /subsonic/jetty/XXXX/webapp/WEB-INF/jsp/ where XXX should be a 4 digit number depending on the Subsonic version you are using.

First file: createShare.jsp
Copy these two lines under the <body.....> tag
<c:set var="newurlfix1" value="${model.playUrl}"/>
<c:set var="newurlfix2" value="${fn:replace(newurlfix1,'yoursubdomain.subsonic.com', 'yourdomain.com')}" />

Then replace every instance (after these two lines) of ${model.playUrl} in the file with ${newurlfix2}

Second file: shareSettings.jsp
Copy these two lines under the <body.....> tag
<c:set var="newurlfix1" value="${model.shareBaseUrl}"/>
<c:set var="newurlfix2" value="${fn:replace(newurlfix1,'yoursubdomain.subsonic.com', 'yourdomain.com')}" />

Then replace every instance (after these two lines, there should be only one instance) of ${model.shareBaseUrl} in the file with ${newurlfix2}

Done.

I haven't tester with the recent Subsonic versions since I'm still using an old one but this should work.
