Would like to see this as a standard feature for Subsonic.
I will test this out later on my machine:
Intel Core i7 (1600.000 MHz)
12Gb Ram
Debian

Hope it won't consum that much of ressources :)

Thank you for this write up, it is great!! The only problem I am having right now is that when trying to view a video in full screen mode from my webpage, it does not populate the full screen but instead only stretches the video. Does anyone have a solution to solve this?

Thanks

AMD 3.4 Quad Core with 8 GB Ram, Windows 7, Google Chrome.

Pop the video out into a new window and it works fine.

Thanks for looking over this thread and providing support guys. Don't have much time to support this mod.

So far, the problems we're having with this:

    - WebM only, no fallback As far as I know, this would require some modifications in the core, to somehow have two different transcoding options
    - Full-screen problems This can however be fixed by popping it in a new window and pressing full screen
    - No seeking option
    - Personally, I'm loosing about 15 seconds at the end of my TV Shows, kinda annoying when I'm watching Family Guy and I loose the end ;)

Also, the original videoPlayer I've updated, should work on the web interface, I'm the web interface. And please note that this is for videos only. Music is still using Flash, which isn't a problem for me.

I can get the audio player to load as html5... I am, however, having trouble getting the API to load songs on the fly to work right. It looks like the playlist format that we are using now may not be supported in the html5 player.

If you're willing to share what you have so far, I'll try to take a look when I have time.

From the long tail website:
Removed: feeds in XSPF/ASX/ATOM format
In order to improve clarity and reduce the filesizes, JW6 only supports mRSS feeds. mRSS supports all features offered by other formats, so migrating to mRSS is not a technical problem.

I'll send you what I have once I get home tonight. ~(11:00 MST)

Hi

I see some write that they turn off transcoding for certain formats / players.

But how do I do it? for example I want transcoding to my phone, but I do not want transcoding to my google tv (it can play non-transcoded but not transcoded)

I noticed this, I accidentally crashed my transcoding part and then played all the movies on almost all things such as Boxee, Google TV, co-star, phone) unfortunately it does not work with ipad (isub).

I would like to have the ability to simply turn off transkoding for some hardware that connects and that they get the original format (MP4 H264 Acc ffmpg)

Can any kind soul help me with this?

Sincerely, / Chali

You should start a new thread in the Help forum. This is un-related to this thread. However, I can tell you that it would probably require some modifications in the core.

Hi

it would be great if you could get it in MP4 instead (x264 acc ffmpg)
would be great.

does anyone know the transcoding string for this?
Preferably for both html5 and flash.

Hello all! I'm new here, but I would like to ask if anyone has had any success applying this tweak to the Madsonic (Windows version) Mod. I was able to quite easily do this with the stock subsonic (3106) but have been unsuccessful with the Madsonic Beta 3 (3320).

hi,
in my last Build a add a working HTML5 version. But its as default hidden

To enalbe do so you only rename the HTML5 version to the original filename

\Subsonic\jetty\3340\webapp\WEB-INF\jsp\videoPlayer_HTML5.jsp
to videoPlayer.jsp
\Subsonic\jetty\3340\webapp\WEB-INF\jsp\externalPlayer_HTML5.jsp to externalPlayer.jsp
\Subsonic\jetty\3340\webapp\WEB-INF\jsp\rest\videoPlayer_HTML5.jsp to videoPlayer.jsp

Dont forget the transcoding

Code: Select all
Name: mp4/h264 video
Convert from: avi mpg mpeg mp4 m4v mkv mov wmv ogv divx m2ts
Convert to: webm

Code: Select all
ffmpeg -ss %o -t %d -i %s -async 1 -vf lutyuv=y=val*1.3 -b %bk -s %wx%h -ar 44100 -ac 2 -v 0 -f webm -vcodec libvpx -preset superfast -acodec libvorbis -threads 0 -

and as least, check the player for activated tran-coding setting

restart Madsonic Service and try again

best regards
